Purpose:

There is a long tradition of wood construction of residential buildings in B.C. However, in many buildings, wood elements are also used on the building exterior and are exposed to the environment. This bulletin provides guidance on the review and maintenance of exposed wood to help ensure that these components achieve their intended service lives and maintain their appearance.
