Purpose:

BC Housing is working on behalf of the Ministry of Housing to coordinate the implementation of a homeless count to take place March/April 2025. The purpose of the 2025 B.C. Homeless count is to provide a 24-hour snapshot of the number of people experiencing homelessness, their history, demographic information, and service needs.

Impact:

The Province recognized the need for credible baseline information on the estimated number, key demographics, and service needs of people experiencing homelessness to inform policy and program development, measure progress, and identify trends from previous homeless counts. The Homelessness Services Association of BC (HSABC) will help coordinate and implement the counts across the Province.
