This report outlines the current codes and standards related to radon control in buildings, and some proposed changes; identifies potential gaps in design and construction professionals’ areas of responsibility; provides recommendations to practitioners on roles, responsibilities, and key considerations on radon control; and directs professionals in British Columbia to relevant sources of radon data to guide the decision-making on radon interventions.
Impact:
The report aims to raise awareness among building professionals about the risks of radon accumulation in buildings and foster multidisciplinary discussions about professional roles in radon control and mitigation.
