Purpose:

This discussion paper identifies key barriers and enablers to realizing more climate- and earthquake-resilient buildings in British Columbia. It includes 37 recommendations for implementation across five key areas: data and information, awareness and capacity, policy development, financial mechanisms, and social capacity.

Impact:

This discussion paper aims to demystify the challenge we are facing to improve the resilience of buildings across B.C. It highlights the roles for various levels of governments and other stakeholders to address broad, systematic barriers that make it hard to build resilient buildings.
