Purpose:

The Community Housing for Resilient Communities project tells the story of community organizing and housing innovation in Canada to create a more socially inclusive society. The theme of community equity building is weaved through nine individual stories from across Quebec and British Columbia, highlighting how they are incrementally acting to increase local control of urban land development through the development of housing as community-owned assets. The project, by Jessica Chen includes a full report and eight videos showcasing the presentations of each story.

Impact:

The Community Housing for Resilient Communities will facilitate discussion and inspire other community leaders to implement these approaches. This project offers planners, architects, and other city builders an engaging lessons-learned format within the current context of urban land development.
