Purpose:

Cardington Apartments in Kelowna opened in 2008 and has 30 self-contained units providing supportive housing development for adults who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, managing mental health and addiction challenges. This case study explores concerns that were raised about the site and the strategies used to gain community acceptance.

Impact:

The Community Acceptance of Supportive Housing – Case Study Series helps future sites to better address neighbourhood concerns at the initial stages of a project.
